Good planning skills are needed when planning for window and doors layout. Make sure that they have clear appoach spaces and that the windows are positioned at a height when young children and handicapped can access easily. These are some tips on how you should plan your doors and windows:
-position the windows at a maxium of 1.2m about ground level. As lower sills may endanger young children, make sure you select the window heights accordingly.
-use safety glass as a precaution, especially if you have children in your house.
-Provide a clearance of 0.9m appoach space in front of each door so as to allow easy maneuver for users
-Consider the direction of the door swing when choosing doors that will open into the room
