Are you planning to construct a new cabinet? What are the things to take into consideration? If you are planning to save money, then I would advise you to use wood for only the doors and framing.
It would be good if you decide to use plywood box construction as it offers good structural support. I would say that using strong plywood as supporting elements like the box and frame, together with fiberboard as doors would be the most cost saving construction method.
If you really wish to build a cabinet yourself, check out cabinet construction methods which includes dovetail, mortise and tenon joinery and solidly mortised hinges. Ensure that the interior of the cabinet is finished well although it need not be as complete as that of the exterior.
