Are you deciding whether to install your own flooring? Successfully installing of flooring depends on the flooring material and the skill level you have got. First, ask yourself whether you have the neccessary skill. Are you good at DIY?
Some materials like laminate and other vinyl products required only elementary skill. All you have to do is careful measurement and the skill to cut a straight line with a utility knife or a light weight saw.
Complicated skills are required if you decide to use ceramics or harder flooring material. You might need a circular saw to rip planks, a wet saw to cut ceramics, a power nailer to fasten solid wood flooring. You might even need a notched trowel to apply the correct amount of adhesive.
The toughest floors require adding plywood, backer board, a mortar bed prior to installation and recitifying flooring level problems which can arise at threshold and transitional point in the floor.
