Bed takes up the most space in any bedroom. Bed is the centre of focus and will the the representative of the bedroom style that you are trying to achieve.

What are the things to consider when placing your bed?
-if the bed is staying in the location for a long time, then you could opt to have a build in bed
-room dimensions and layout of the room normally dictate where you place your bed
-natural light. Situating the bed close to a window will allow natural light to create its own moods and images (see designing with natural light)
-ease of acces. Getting in and out of the bed should be shielded by the opening door. It can be difficult to make the bed if it is too close to the bedroom door
-avoid placing beds back to back eith just a bedroom wall seperating them. This is insufficient to create enough privacy for the users.
Remember, when placing your bed, choose a location within the range of window light, not too close to the bedroom door and if possible, not back onto an adjacent bedroom wall.
