 Seating is all about comfort and style and the balancing of the right amount of both. To achieve the style that you want, it will depend on where in the house, garden or office the seating is to be and also the role that it will play.

Different rooms and living spaces will naturally have varying styles of seating. Individual items are far more likely to make an impact. For example, an elegant wing armchair, whose upholstered sections are each covered in different fabrics, could be viewed as a decorative object when placed on its own.

The reason is because the object is able to ‘claim’ the space surrounding it and hence, providing a strong focal point for the interior. Comfort here will be secondary to the appearance.

Specific items will no doubt influenece the additiion of others. Thus when selecting item to put in your interior, do select them base on what you like and feel good about rather than trying to ‘match’ a set of furniture. In areas such as living rooms, where several items of seating often mingle together, an overall cohension is useful. Do bare in mind that balace is essential here.
